Lost Your Voter ID Card in Arunachal Pradesh? How to Get a Duplicate
Losing a Voter ID (EPIC) card can be very stressful because it is a primary identity and address proof. But we have good news!
You no longer have to visit government offices multiple times to get a replacement card. You can do it entirely online from the ECI portal from your home.
Do You Need an FIR from the Police?
Many people ask if they need a police report. Here is the simple rule:
- If the card is completely LOST or STOLEN, ECI rules require a copy of an FIR or Police Report.
- If the card is MUTILATED (torn/damaged) or DESTROYED (fire/flood), no FIR is needed. You just have to return the old torn card to the ERO.
Method 1: Download e-EPIC Online (Fastest & Free)
If you just need the ID immediately for proof, you can download the digital PDF version (e-EPIC). Let's know how to download it. Follow the below steps:
Step 1. Visit the portal: For the first, you have to go to the official ECI voters portal: https://voters.eci.gov.in/ from your mobile or computer.
Step 2. Login to your account: Now login with your registered mobile number and password. If you don't have one, just sign up easily.
Step 3. Select e-EPIC option: On the main dashboard, find and click on the 'Download e-EPIC' button. It is usually on the right side of the screen.
Step 4. Verify your number: You have to enter your exact EPIC number. The system will send an OTP to your mobile phone. Verify it by entering the OTP in the box.
Step 5. Download the PDF: Finally, click the Download button. The Voter ID PDF will be saved directly to your device instantly.
Note: This only works if your mobile number is correctly linked to your Voter ID.
