How to Shift Your Voter Constituency Within Arunachal Pradesh
If you have recently shifted to a new house, village, or town within Arunachal Pradesh, you must update your voting address. You are not allowed to vote in your old constituency if you no longer live there permanently.
You do not need to make a fresh voter ID! You just need to transfer your existing EPIC number to your new address using Form 8. Let's know how to easily transfer your constituency online.
Types of Shifting
When you fill out Form 8, the portal will ask you what type of shifting you are doing. Look at the table below to choose the correct option:

| Within Assembly Constituency | You just moved to a different house or street in the same town/village area. Your local MLA remains the same. |
| Outside Assembly Constituency | You moved to a completely different district or faraway town in Arunachal Pradesh. Your local MLA will change. |
Step-by-Step Guide for Address Change
Keep your new Address Proof (like a rent agreement, electricity bill, or Aadhaar card) ready. Follow the below detailed steps to submit your transfer request:
Step 1. Go to the Voters Portal: For the first step, you have to open the official Election Commission website: https://voters.eci.gov.in/ from your browser.
Step 2. Login to your account: Now safely login using your registered mobile number and password. If you don't have an account, sign up first.
Step 3. Select Form 8: On the home screen, you have to find and click on Form 8 (Shifting of Residence). Remember, do NOT use Form 6 for this.
Step 4. Choose the Shifting Option: The system will ask for your reason. Choose the first option: 'Shifting of Residence'. Then select whether you shifted 'Within Assembly Constituency' or 'Outside Assembly Constituency' based on our table above.
Step 5. Enter New Details: Carefully type your new, complete house address. Then upload a clear photo or PDF of your new Address Proof document.
Step 6. Submit the Application: Review your new address details one more time and press Submit. You will get a Reference Number to track when the BLO visits your new house for verification!
What Happens Next?
Your new Booth Level Officer (BLO) will visit your new house to verify that you actually live there now. Once verified, your name will be automatically deleted from the old voting area and added to the new voting area. Your EPIC Number remains exactly the same!
